I love shooting senior portraits. One of the many reasons is because the images are about them. Their goals, their interests, on their turf. Each one unique in his or her way. Bubbly, smart, funny, dorky, musical, athletic, bookworm, shy, cunning, sweet, driven, motivated, goofy all are personality traits of individuals I’ve photographed over the past 2 weeks. Part of my job is to take what I know about my subject’s personality and translate that into their senior portrait session. Some seniors I know very well. Some I’ve just met. Some are open- hearted and ready to give me their all and others are a bit more stand off-ish and take a while to warm up. This gal was fabulous to work with, our time together was short and sweet and absolutely perfect. She had just returned from the Carolinas where she was working as an intern for a few weeks this summer. She loved her time there and is hoping to return next summer. One of her goals for our session together was to use the images not only for a senior portrait photo at school but also for a professional photo for online use. I loved the outfit she chose for this. The suit coat could be taken off for a more casual look and the hint of blue in the suit brought out the beautiful color of her eyes. LOVE IT!
