Love how these families dressed for their mini sessions!  Why do I love it?  Layers, they have all layered the outfits, denim jacket, hair bows, scarf, necklaces, they all work to bring more texture to the images.  Also the tones of the outfits all work together.  What is tone?  “the particular quality of brightness, deepness, or hue of a tint or shade of a color.”  What does that mean?  Look at the image with the four children.  Do you see green, mauve, blue, white and gold? Do you see pattern and texture?  Now try an imagine mom or dad standing behind the kiddos with a flat black shirt or dark purple.  They would just stand out.   If you were to add in other colors to this grouping gray or beige would work.   Make sense?  If not, there’s always Pinterest or matching sweater dressing or pj’s from Hanna Andersson.  Cheers!
